"If you want to know the Caribbean, go to Dominican Republic;
If you want to know the Pacific Ocean, go to Chile;
If you want to know the Andean Mountains, go to Ecuador;
If you want to know the Amazon Jungle, go to Brazil;
If you want to know pre-columbian cultures, go to Mexico or Peru;
But if you want to know all those in just one place, go to Colombia".

This quotation from a travel agency pretty well summarizes why we favor Colombia.  It is the oldest democracy in S. America and free of revolutions and problems that plague other Latin countries. The government is stable and rated highly for international investments. Colombia is truly a well kept secret.

Bogota- the capital city -is often referred to as "The Athens of South America".  It offers a diverse, rich culture, with something to offer everyone who visits here.  There are 58 museums, 62 art galleries, 45 theaters, 161 national monuments, 75 parks and 33 libraries. The Gold Museum (Museo del Oro ) is a symbol of Bogota, it has the most important collection of its kind in the world, more than 34,000 pieces of gold and silverwork and 20,000 objects made of stone, pottery, textiles, and precious stones.

Simon Bolivar Park is larger than Central Park in NYC and you will find free concerts there frequently attended by thousands of people from all the Americas.

Bogota is a city where education is of primary importance.  There are 25 universities here and the higher education  sector is one of the most competitive, and a driving force behind the city today.  There are also some 53 bi-lingual schools covering English, French, Italian, German and Hebrew among others.

The restaurants are totally unique and difficult to describe except that you will enjoy yourself and see things that you won't see anywhere else in the world.  The owners are so creative in their decorating and in the dishes served so  you will need to see this to appreciate it. The food is international and excellent - most world travelers rate the restaurants here at or near the best in the world.  The sidewalk cafes in Zona Rosa and Parque 93 are my personal favorites and they resemble the best cafes found in Europe where people watching is a favorite sport.  On week-ends you can drive up the mountain to LaCalera where you can enjoy good foods in an informal atmosphere while taking in a breathtaking  view of the city from the mountaintop.  The cool mountain air and low prices are a bonus for you.
